Michael Lyne (British, 1912–1989)
Michael Lyne was born in Upton Bishop in Herefordshire and studied at the Cheltenham School of Art. A painter of mainly sporting subjects and hunting scenes in both oil and watercolour, he illustrated many books and also wrote and illustrated Horses, Hounds and Country (1938). Michael Lyne exhibited in London but lived for much of his life in Cheltenham.
